aren't there christian denominations who do not make false end of the world predictions but who nevertheless believe that the world will eventually end and paradise (whether in heaven or on earth) will come?.
it seems the watchtower was just jumping the gun when they made false end of the world predictions but they are nevertheless the right: the world will eventually end and paradise will come..

jws like to think they have found the one true religion.
but like so many other religious people, it's usually the religion they were born into, the only religion they know because it's the first one they found or, at the most, one of two or three (typically the second one after they left their first / born-in faith).. the trouble is, there simply isn't enough time to explore and investigate each and everyone of the many thousands of belief systems, religions and sects around the world.. think of it this way: which is the best neighbourhood to live in where you would be most happy and most successful?
not just in the city or even the country you are in, but the entire world.. how would you ever know?
Great point and analogy!

The Royal Commission inquiry doesn't fit the narrative of the Watchtower, nor its financial interests.
it appears to me revelation was 'fulfilled' 1st century and we are fooling ourselves to think it applies to present times .
let's start with the opening statement:.
a revelation by jesus christ, which god gave him,+ to show his slaves+ the things that must shortly take place.. hmm-- shortly take place ?
The book of Revelation is no different from Jehovah's Witnesses' books. It's all B.S. to make the believer (credulous) feel good and special, and make the BSer rich or/and powerful. These books, when there's enough support, represent a step backwards for humanity.
jws will deny that local needs parts are often just a way to mark those in the congregation who are deemed to be "bad association" or who don't fall in line with the elders viewpoints.
now, for the first time in a long time the wt discusses their marking policy and how it works in the nov study wt:.
recall paul’s counsel regarding disorderly ones in the congregation.
Before I married my wife, when just about everyone in the congregation knew that we were going to tie the knot, the loving elders call a speaker to give a talk in which my wife was called a STAIN in the congregation. She was never named, but the talk was directed to those dating worldly people. She was the only one doing that. Later, she was reproved because her older sister made up stuff about some sort of physical contact between us. Completely false. Good thing the circuit overseer was a reasonable man. In his visit, he asked the elders to remove the restrictions on my wife. The elders use that verse...the light get brighter... as an apology.

not only will you hear howie tran, former-bethelite, but irwin zalkins talks about watchtower's child abuse secrets.
debbie mcdaniels talks about her child abuse and you will hear trey actually talking to the jw who molested her..
DD Donate. I am actually thinking of doing that.
i feel like everything that comes out of my mothers mouth is something negative and cringe worthy.
all she seems to talk about with me is how terrible and demonic our disfellowshipped relatives are, how horrible the world and holidays are, or how she is so much better and "holier than thou".
it really makes me sick sometimes.
Black wolf,
Seems that your parents are the intransigent, zealot type. Is there an elder or ministerial servant that is well respected and reasonable regarding your problem. Some JW's understand and are more patient. Sounds crazy, but you may get an ally in the congregation that may be able to placate your parents.
"I am not ready" is a good answer and a reasonable JW could help you keep your parents off your case for a while. I have known some JW's who understand quite well the statement "I am not ready"

The Watchtower is quite ready to forgive child abuser's and disfellowship the abused. I wonder why. I think this is a tactic to keep the abusers from revealing Watchtower dark secrets and to isolate the victims, who may feel that nobody will believe them. It's worked great for the Watchtower. But the time is coming when the tactic will come back to hit them hard, very hard.
